This is Erica's 6th year of being alive. She is now a first grader and has left her Mom with no more babies at home anymore. I am now a mom of 2 schoolagers.
This is her first day of First grade. She went to ECS and that branch was located at Central Church on Winchester. It was close to our home and I was privileged to be able to take and pick up Keith and Erica every day. She picked out her Dalmatians backpack and had her nap towel under her arm. They had to rest on a towel on the floor. Nowadays, the kids get to use padded mats.
She really enjoyed school and had a great group of friends. Many of them that she had met in Kindergarten were also in her 1st grade class. Some of them she is still in contact with to this day.
This was one of the best field trips I was able to go to with Erica. We went to Champion Awards and the class and adults were guided through a T shirt printing class. And we were able to keep our shirts. I know that I loved the trip and so did Erica. And it was fun to experience it together.
AT this age her favorite TV show was FULL HOUSE. She also loved the movie HOME ALONE 2. Her favorite book was REVENGE OF THE BUBBLEGUM MONSTER. How do I remember these things, you ask? I actually kept up with her baby book.
She was learning to be an real athlete and not just a name on the roster. She was playing T ball and Basket ball and was developing good skills. She took dancing and gymnastics. And she enjoyed swimming. She had some good friends in our neighborhood and they all played together really well in the cove next to us. Their most played game was roller hockey. Most of these kids could roller blade and someone had a net. They all got sticks and played and played. If they weren't playing roller hockey then they were riding their bikes. It was such a pleasant and safe environment.
