Random thoughts from the dr office!
As I wait to get my cortisone shots in each knee, random thoughts come to my mind!
Thought I would share them while I pass the time.
1. If women say more words than men in a day, why do I see so many men on cell phones?
2. What exactly does " dead as a door nail " phrase mean? Was the door nail once a living thing?
3. When it is so hot outside, why do people forget their deodorant and then stand in line to share their B O aroma?
4. Why's a shoe called a shoe? Guess what old B & W that is from?
5. Wonder why people call my home phone and ask, when I answer, are you home?
6. How many FINAL courtesy calls am I gonna receive about lowering my credit card interest rates when I pay off the balance every month?
7. I really get offended by Landscaping companies or individuals who leave a flyer on my door to mow our lawn! We do our own lawn and it looks really good! Larry works hard to make it look beautiful!
8. At a drive thru: when I order my tea and say: " that's all", why do they ask, "anything else ?"
9. If Apple products are so good, why can't you use ADOBE flash on anything?
10. Because I am OCD, I have to have a 10th thought! That is my number 10 item! Haha
ENJOY YOUR DAY!

Our Anniversary.
Today is our 33rd anniversary. Hard to believe Larry and I have been married this long. We started out dating in the summer of 1978. We got engaged in Dec of 78 the night of the Youth Choir Madrigal Dinner production. We were married on May 19, 1979. A lot has happened in those 33 years, but I think I am most proud of our children.
We have 2 grown children, both Godly adults, and they have both married Godly spouses. I also have 3 beautiful grandchildren. This stage of life is so good. And the cherry on top is that Larry and I are still in love and are best friends.
I will post some pictures later when I get around to scanning them in.
Until then, I just want to say: I love you Larry and here's to many more years together.

It all started with a spot on the floor.
Do you ever wonder if you are ADHD? I do all of the time. I have never been tested but I bet I am and just learned how to live with it.....or live through it. hahaha
Anyway: this morning....I chose to take a free day from my exercise regimen. I know that you are supposed to rest in between but many times , I only do that every now and then. Today is a rest day.
I noticed a spot on my grout from where I got my new back splash last week. So, I tried to wipe it up and it wouldn't budge. So, while down there, I noticed more stains....so I sprayed the area with floor cleaner and waited for it to soak in. While I waited, I updated my FB to timeline....not an easy chore. Then, I scrubbed the floor and got all of the stains up EXCEPT the first spot I saw on the grout. I put the dirty towel in the wash room and noticed I needed to wash a load of towels. Put those in and then headed to bedroom to hang up some clothes left in the washroom.
Then, I decided it was time to clean out the jacuzzi. Started the water and then collected coat hangers. While the tub was filling and bubbling out the debris, I hung up some clothes and dusted the dining room table. As I went to the living room to check the caller ID, I remembered I had 2 lamps to put together. So...immediately I started the lamp assembly. Oh yeah.....the jacuzzi. Went in there and shut it off and drained it. Back to the lamps....finished those....they looked nice.
Back to the jacuzzi and cleaned it out.....wow....now it is finally cleaned out like I have been thinking about for 2 months.
Took the lamp packaging to the trash when I noticed the spot on the floor again. Got out a razor blade and scraped it off....YAY....it is finally gone. Laundry needed put in the dryer....but had to fold the load from the dryer first. Folded that, then switched the laundry to the dryer and then started another load of wash.
Weird....huh? But....that is usually the way my entire day goes all of the time.
How about you?

My first spray tan
Well....I have always been a sunner! From years of teaching swimming, I was able to acquire that dark beautiful tan as a fringe benefit. Then....sunscreen came along. But for me.....I still tanned with sunscreen and sunblock. Then...came the tanning bed. Faster tan without the UV RAYS.....supposed to be better for the skin. Right????
Time will tell.
Now....there is spray tanning! So....I got my first spray tan last night. I bathed/exfoliated/shaved/ and moisturized before going. Just like they said.
I listened carefully to all instruction and did the regimen. At first....I thought it didn't work. I looked the same. But...you have to give it time and it will keep getting darker.
So...this morning...I woke to look in the mirror. Hum.....still looks the same! Oh wait....,my hand and fingers look darker! I put the lotion on my fingernails to keep the spray from messing up my new nanicure. It seems where I put the lotion....it got darker!
Here is my dirty looking hand. See the difference between the hand and wrist?
So...then I started to put on my shoes....and guess what? the soles of my feet are the darkest!!!!
That is really spray tan color...not DIRT!!!
Not sure this is what I should do again....jury is still out on this.....but it sure was an experience and really fun. The best part is that I did it with Erica...so we laughed alot about everything.
You will have to check her post as to how her tan came out.
Time will tell.

Chasing Mail
On Thurs, Feb 23, 2012, it was a beautiful day outside. For Feb, it was very warm and windy. Did I say windy?
I went to my mailbox to get my mail and the minute I pulled it out, the wind kicked up and blew 2 of my pieces down the street. I knew that one was a water bill so I started running after it. I had 2 other packages and more mail in my arms as I was frantically chasing this bill. My car was half in and out of the driveway and the engine was running with the driver door open.
3 times I got close to the bill and 3 times it blew further away. After running almost to the cove, finally it landed near me and I stepped on the bill, thereby trapping it in the mud puddle.
Here is the bill with my shoe print on it. Perfect sample for a CSI!!!!
After I retrieved that soggy, muddy bill, I backtracked to search for my other piece of blown mail. Luckily, it had only traveled a few feet and landed in the curb in a puddle of water. Success! I picked up that dripping bill and carried ALL of my mail into the house.
Whew! So glad that I do run for exercise and that I am in shape. Also glad that I was wearing running shoes....I certainly didn't want to aggravate my heels and start that heel pain all over again.
So....mail was rescued and dried out. All turned out fine. Too bad someone didn't film me and post it on YouTube. Could have been a viral sensation!

Die Coke update
Hey friends....I am happy to report that my quest to wean off of Diet Coke has worked. I am now in my 2nd month of not drinking fountain DC's. Hope Burger King/McDonalds/Subway will be able to get along without my patronage.
I have been guzzling water, drinking tea and chocolate 1% milk. Every now and then I sip on some Diet MT. Dew or Diet Sierra Mist. Since those are not my fav....I don't drink much of them.
I have not had the headache withdrawal symptoms that I anticipated.
So....the other day I bought a drink from BK just to see....and I could NOT drink it. The taste was not appealing to me! Didn't see that coming. I left it in the fridge for Larry.
We ate at Memphis Pizza Cafe last Sat and I ordered water and a diet coke....just to see. Drank the water instead.....the DC was no BIGGIE!!!!!
I am puzzled by decline of the taste craving. DC no longer has its pull on me. I am not enslaved anymore by that drink. Interesting......I wasn't expecting that outcome.
So....hope my bones are loving this new me! I don't know that I will be off DC forever.....but for now...I am free of the taste and craving.
