New foods thanks to Bone Density Scan

Well, I am at that wonderful age where no matter what you do, your body starts to betray you.  I had my bone density scan in Dec and the results were not as good as I was expecting.  I have had to start taking Fosamax once a week and 1200mg of Calcium and 2000 mg Vit D3 daily.  Ouch!   That hurt my feelings.   I thought I was healthy with all of my calculated eating and workouts.
NEW PLAN:  I have given up Diet Coke!   It was a love of my life and was the only vice I could enjoy guilt free with no calories.
Or so I thought.  Because I drank DC instead of calories in other beverages, I have depleted my body of needed vitamins and minerals and therefore fueling Osteopenia.    But...it is not too late!   I have been off of DC for 3 weeks.   Have not bought a fountain drink in 3 weeks!  THIS IS HUGE for me.  I have been drinking diet soda of some form since my teen years:  Diet Rite Cola/ Tab/ Diet Coke.  This is a part of me that is now gone!
It was my reward for workouts and anything else I could do to earn a fountain DC.  Good bye my ole friend.

Now:  I am trying to drink everyday:  OJ/Chocolate milk and tons more water and water drinks.  Yes...I have   had to adjust my caloric intake for the extra calories but I am hoping it will all be worth it.

I have been trying new items that are calcium fortified and Vit D fortified.  Not sure how those will pan out.  I already tried Fiber One choices but they are like eating Styrofoam.  Strike them from my grocery list.
Hummus is really good.  I am enjoying that.
Greek Yogurt is not my fav.   I think I will stick with my Dannon lite n fit.
Tried Almond Milk today, since I am not a milk lover.  Added a touch of chocolate syrup and it was palatable.

So....food and drink has become a top priority with me.  I used to just count the calories and maintained correct portions, gave up fried foods, cut the sugar, tried to get the veggie/fruit servings each day.   Now, I am looking to add food that promote healthy bones and include calcium and vitamin D.

Feel free to make suggestions.  I am kinda a picky eater but I am trying to branch out and try new things.

Great job!

Eat your egg yokes, don't leave them out!

Also, kale (i have never tried it) is a vegetable with Calcium/Vitamin D and I have seen where people cut them up and roast them and eat them like chips. If I find the directions I will send it to you. I know you love some crunchy chip! They might taste great it hummus!
